Andy Visa

I have had multiple lessons with Andy so far. She has an excellent understanding of adult learning and tailors her lesson around my goals. For example, we spent two lessons translating common phrases from my job. Andy also is very intuitive, and her background in yoga and mindfulness allows her to guide students outside of their comfort zones. Not only are we working on learning a new language, but also learning a new mindset.

My sessions with Andy transcend language learning. My knowledge of and confidence with Spanish has grown significantly since I started studying with her, but I have gotten much more from our time together. With her guidance I now see language learning as like participating in life itself; mistakes are made, accomplishments are achieved, setbacks occur, gains are hard fought and won. And all contribute to the growth of the person and of the soul. I will say this of Andy: you come for the language learning and you will learn a lot. But more importantly, you will be rewarded with invaluable lessons on life.

Andy is a lovely teacher! I had my second lesson with her today. Our time together is productive and spontaneous, which I really enjoy. Plus, her prompts & feedback are very helpful while keeping the conversation going. I can already tell that my vocabulary and comprehension are improving! Thanks to her ability to meet me at my level and challenge me, I’m hopeful that I will continue to make progress 😊

Andy is the best. She individually focuses on your conversation level and talks with you about whatever you want. We’ve been reviewing topics such as people, differences, societies, traveling, and food. It’s been a pleasure getting to know her and her free spirit. Andy is an amazing teacher. She encourages you to speak confidently and always highlights the positive, even when you make mistakes. I would highly recommend her.
