Hi, I'm Sophie! I'm a French teacher from Lyon, in France. I am living in Istanbul, Turkey, where I have been teaching French to University students and adults for 13 years. I hold a master's degrees in teaching French as a Foreign language as well as a Master's degrees in International relations. I was previously working in that field. I love learning new languages and getting to know new countries and cultures. I've learned English, Spanish, German, Italian and Polish in a classic way during my studies and I learned Turkish while living in Turkey, by listening and speaking with people. My goal is to bring out the best in you to improve your French in the way you need!
My lessons are well structured but I really do adapt myself to your goals. I can for instance explain you French grammar and make you practice it by using structures in speaking (fun) activities. We can also work on vocabulary or pronunciation. I can assign you writing tasks.
For general conversation practice, I like to send you first a video or a text with questions and then have a conversation on the topic. All topics are possible, just let me know!

With me, you'll practice your French as much as possible in order to gain self-confidence and fluency.
Every time you speak, I'm listening carefully, I write down your mistakes and correct them on my sheet (without showing my screen too much, I don't want to interrupt your thoughts ;-)) and I'll give you a feedback.

I started lessons with Sophie four years ago when my level was at B1. Thanks to her support, I successfully passed the DALF C2 and can now confidently use French in my professional work. I have just had a trial lesson with Sophie, and have signed up for more. She encourages conversation, at the end she went through a word doc she'd written on corrections to improve what I had said. She made a clear learning plan based on the Defi, and explained how this would improve my french. She took the lead in planning based on our conversation.
