My name is Amy Goodman-Wilson and I am an American living in Lisbon. I speak English natively; French, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish at an intermediate level, and I am currently studying Japanese. I have degrees in philosophy, political science and biology. I am an experienced CELTA certified English teacher and I am also a philosophy professor. I am conversant in most academic subjects including politics, philosophy, psychology and more. I have lived all over the world, and I am interested in a wide range of topics. My attitude towards teaching language is that the most important thing is to make students feel comfortable and entertained, and the rest comes naturally. Language learning is not like any other subject because it is so personal. I help my students learn to express themselves by showing them it is okay to make mistakes and encouraging them to just be themselves. She sent me the discussion material for me to go over before the class, and while we were discussing the topic, she pointed out my mistakes and provided insightful and effective feedback. She is warm and professional, and she is very easy to talk to. I highly recommend Amy and her class!
