Hey guys!
My name is Jamison, but most people call me "Jay." I left America over five years ago with a small backpack & traveled around the world for a few years. I eventually ended up in Georgia (a country recommended to me by a student), where I now live. During the winter, I teach snowboarding & skiing at the local ski resort. During the spring & summer months, I build / upgrade campervans and rent my own campervan to tourists (www.vanlife.ge).

I am a TEFL-certified English teacher with a wealth of experience both online and in-person. Teaching is my passion and I create a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere for my students to have fun while they learn. My approach is to act as a coach, guiding students to take control of their own learning by understanding how languages are acquired and developing personalized strategies. I speak naturally to help students pick up on natural patterns of speech and adjust my teaching speed/complexity for their needs. I am easy-going, adaptable and constantly seeking new ways to improve as a teacher. I teach languages using the Natural Approach and TPRS methods, emphasizing natural communication to help students acquire English. Avoiding boring textbooks and heavy grammar lessons, I introduce grammar structures in a natural order. All communication is in English, with meaningful messages and imagery to create an immersive experience. Jay is a great teacher! He is cheerful and supportive. He makes you feel very comfortable during class and is able to point out different ways of saying things in a more accurate and natural way. I definitely recommend his classes!

To me, great teachers should have all these capabilities in order to provide a valuable service:
1. listening to the student
2. finding out their needs
3. delivering a high quality service
I believe Jay has all of them. I love working with him in that I am improving really fast.
