Hi I'm Laura:)
My native tongue is German. I grew up in Frankfurt, Germany, but at the moment I live at the Gold Coast, Australia.

I have experience in teaching for many years now. I started with giving lessons in normal classrooms but then in 2018, I moved on to online teaching. I am really excited about teaching in this way because I have the chance to get to know many interesting people all around the world! So I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you improve your German language skills!
I offer personalized lessons. I will adapt them to your needs, your level and language goals.

In Germany, I studied Art, Theater and Biology to become a teacher for high school students in these subjects. While living in Germany, I worked at different schools and I happened to teach more than what I studied for. For example, I gained experience as a German teacher for children with migration background and was head of class at a Montessori School. All wonderful experiences. I always tried to find suitable teaching methods for the different types of learning and individual needs to achieve the learning goals with the students together. I believe that teaching starts in the heart and to me, it is very important to create the right environment of mutual appreciation with an individual approach, understanding and communication as a team.
Of course there are also a lot of exciting methods to motivate while learning. We can just chat, practice grammar, learn for your test, discuss songs, film scenes, and art. We can pretend to be involved in realistic or imaginative scenarios etc.

Laura is a great teacher! The hour flies by, and through our lessons, review of materials (which she keeps very organized), and tasks, I find myself having many "A-ha!" moments and better remembering things I have learned. She tailors lessons, materials, and homework (if applicable) based on student preferences. She is also very kind and is genuinely happy to learn about her students and to see our language skills improve over time. :)

Laura has been such a delight! Her teaching method really works for me, and she's very flexible. Our sessions flow organically with genuine conversation, and then we expand on the places where I need more instruction or practice. I look forward to continuing my language journey with her.

Excellent class. Laura is very well versed with German grammar and has a great way of explaining things. Also, great conversation component of the class. Laura is also very organized. I really liked how she came prepared with a Lesson Plan and a shareable document. She is also flexible and adapted to my learning needs. Would highly recommend a class with her!

Laura is a fantastic teacher. Within five lessons, I've seen my proficiency and comfort speaking German continue to grow. I would definitely recommend her for learners of all levels.
