A great first lesson. The first of many lessons

Very supportive and encouraging.

I had a good first lesson with Muhammad. It is clear that he is a very well-educated man in the field of the Arabic language. I asked to learn spoken Fusha with all the إعراب and he was able to naturally speak in such a way and was able to explain the logic behind it very well. I have quite some experience with reading but not so much with the other domains. Muhammad spoke clearly enough that it wasn't cumbersome to understand his speech. At the same time I felt comfortable in speaking even though it took quite a lot of time to formulate my thoughts sometimes (my lack of practice was showing) and I made plenty of mistakes. On my request he did not cut me off during speaking but wrote down my mistakes (at first I thought he was distracted, but in the end it was him jotting down my errors) and we analysed and corrected them together in the end. This was helpful and interesting. My only complaint was that the air-conditioner was quite loud at times which made listening slightly harder.

Excellent teacher, understood what I have been struggling with and worked with me to figure out what strategies for learning Arabic would work best for me. Very clear, encouraging and confidence building approach. Learning materials were really easy to understand and were exactly at the right level I needed.
