Hello - I’m James :)
I'm a friendly English teacher from Bristol with over 8 years of experience. I specialise in conversational fluency and Cambridge exam prep (First and Advanced), helping students gain confidence and certifications. Having lived in Spain for 7 years, I understand the challenges of learning a language - and the joy of cultural exchange.

I have experience teaching English in a wide range of contexts, including primary schools, exam preparation,and private tuition for adults.
My specialities are:
- Conversation classes to develop practical skills and gain confidence in your ability to communicate effectively.
- Preparation for Cambridge exams (PET, First, Advanced) or other English exams.

I aim for enjoyable classes which are focused on your needs. In my classes, we explore current topics and everyday situations and I encourage active participation and free expression.
I use a variety of resources to make learning more fun and effective, from studying texts and videos to interactive games.
In addition, I have a wide library of English storybooks which we can discuss in class and read for homework. Stories are a natural way of discovering vocabulary and grammar as they are how we learn language as children.

Es muy agradable conversar con él y corrige de modo educado y con explicaciones sencillas. Además, propone diferentes tipo de actividades durante la clase, para no hacerla monónonta, y se adecúa perfectamente a lo que el alumno solicita. Muy buen profesor.

James is a great English teacher. He is patient, makes the lessons very varied, and takes my preferences into account. He explains things clearly and in a way that’s easy to understand if you don’t get something. I can highly recommend him. I’m really glad I chose him as my teacher.
