¡Hola! I’m Robert—a bilingual Texan with roots in Mexico and a TESOL-certified English/Spanish tutor. Growing up in Odessa, Texas, I accidentally became an ESL helper in high school (despite being a native speaker!). I like to focus on English lessons that are interesting to my students, making them feel comfortable so they get more involved in the subject. One thing that I've always believed in, is practice makes perfect, that all though you may not be where you want to be, your continuous effort will eventually bring you closer to reach your goals. Robert is a truly wonderful Spanish teacher. He is incredibly kind and patient, and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere to practice language-learning. I really appreciate his ability to ask great questions to start a flow of conversation, and also how much he encourages pausing conversation to cover grammar points and vocabulary to help with the learning process. I found him to also have an incredible presence, and that he is an interesting person to talk with. I greatly look forward to more lessons with Robert, and highly recommend him to all!

I just had a three week trip to Mexico and for the first time I wasn’t afraid to try to speak Spanish with those around me. It was a wonderful experience and I give full credit to Roberto for making me at ease. I can’t wait to learn more.
