Hi! I'm Stacey. I'm a bit of a language nerd. I've worked as a speech pathologist in public schools and as an English teacher in Japan. My specialty in speech was articulation and fluency disorders. Now my focus is on conversational English and accent training with adults. I work primarily with upper intermediate to advanced students and my goal is to help these students feel confident and powerful in English so they can use English in their life the way they want to. I feel that communication is very important and language is key in expressing one's identity, so it is my goal to help people express themselves authentically in English so that they can speak anywhere and with anyone.Che tipo di insegnante sono
I'm a language student as well as a teacher, and everyone has different reasons for studying and different methods for practicing. There is an ocean of English resources out there and a ton of advice for how to proceed. My goal here is to get students talking and using the grammar and vocabulary they've studied in actual conversation. I know speaking a second language can be scary, so I am patient as a teacher and encourage students not to worry about making mistakes. We have to make mistakes in order to improve. I will provide guidance for grammar, word choice, and pronunciation during lessons, but it is important to me that students be willing to express themselves without fear. Here on italki, I am best equipped to work with adult students who are at an intermediate to advanced level in English. We primarily address expanding conversational skills and refining grammar and vocabulary use. This can be for both spoken and written language. I like to include my students' interests when possible, which can mean discussing an article about a hobby or sport a student likes, studying vocabulary and phrases for an upcoming trip abroad, or practicing natural sounding pronunciation and slang. It's my goal to make language learning as fun and practical as possible.
