Hi! I'm Miss Clarke, an English teacher based in Dublin, Ireland. I was born and raised here, so I know a lot about Irish culture and society. My mother is Irish and my father is from Hong Kong, so I was lucky to grow up immersed in two amazing cultures. I really love movies, art and theatre. I'm a creative person and bring this energy to my work as a teacher.
I have experience as a language learner myself (Irish, Cantonese, French, Spanish). This has given me some perspective on the challenges you may face. I aim to be an encouraging teacher who helps you reach your goals at your own pace.Che tipo di insegnante sono
I hold a CELTA qualification and a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and Sociology from Trinity College Dublin. I’ve taught professionally in Ireland, Italy, Hong Kong and online.
While I’ve worked primarily with young learners under 12, I also have experience teaching teenagers and adults, in both one-on-one settings and larger groups of up to 28 students.
As a teacher, I’m positive and encouraging, but I also believe that having clear goals is essential for progress. I’m not afraid to be precise and structured to help you learn more effectively.

I’m a flexible teacher with experience working across a range of ages and abilities. I tailor each class to suit your specific needs and learning goals, helping you build both accuracy and confidence. Together, we can set clear objectives and create a learning plan that works for you.
If helpful, I can assign homework to review at the start of our next class or choose articles, videos or songs for us to explore together. Whatever your preferred learning style, we’ll find the right approach. Laurea triennale - First Class Honours English Literature & SociologyReceived a First Class Honours (the highest degree classification). My major areas of study were contemporary Irish writing and race and ethnic studies. The title of my dissertation was: “Ireland is a strange place where Ruth Negga can play Hamlet… but you can’t be too foreign”: Experiences from theatre-makers of marginalised racial and ethnic identity in Ireland.
2020 - 2021
Laurea specialistica - Performance DesignProjects involved creating theoretical designs for venues such as Bristol Old Vic Theatre and Die Deutsche Oper, ranging from kitchen sink drama to contemporary opera. Realised designs at the Wardrobe Theatre and Motion. Specialised in set and video design.
Winner of the John Elvery Prize for the high standard of work achieved while studying.
Winner of the Linbury Prize for Stage Design, a prestigious graduate prize in the UK.
