Hi!
I am Nicolaj. I am a professional teacher, interpreter and filmmaker and it would be a pleasure to help you learn, sharpen and master your Italian/English skills.
I grew up between Milan and London and now I am pretty settled in Berlin. I have taught to individuals and entire classes in Italian and English for several years. My students were from the age of 5 to...59? Right now, I also lead workshops in Radio and Film around Europe and coach talented professionals to hone their confidence to nail any interview or presentation. I have always enjoyed helping people and I find teaching extremely rewarding. When I was a student, I was a bit of a rebel (read: 'allergic to blind authority'). Therefore, my current way to communicate and establish a connection with my students is based upon mutual respect: with respect, there is real listening. I am definitely a conversation-heavy teacher.
I believe that languages are the extremely intricate and fluid reaction to the basic need for communication...so why start from grammar?
First, we will think about talking to each other, understanding each other. Then, the path to be grammatically flawless will be much easier.
I have a few lessons up in my sleeve, but I usually tend to create and prepare them according to the interests of each of my students. Once I evaluate your level in our introductory chat, I will draw upon your passions and interests, to make sure our journey will be more interesting than quizzes and tests..I don't know about you, but I surely want our lessons to be fun!Il mio materiale didattico

Nicolaj is very experienced and prepared for the session of helping me get ready with my resume and job interviews. He also showed me some great tools.
I benefited enormously from the session and felt much less clueless about job seeking as a fresh grad. :D

Sono molto contenta che Nico è il mio insegnante! Lui e meraviglioso, intelligente, e molto molto divertente! Le lezioni sono sempre divertenti e imparo molto. I was nervous for my first lesson as I had never done a one-on-one lesson before, but Nicolaj made me feel comfortable and he explained things in a way I could understand and he’s fun & encouraging too! I learned a lot just in my first trial lesson, so I’m looking forward to more lessons with him!
