My name is Giannis Silligardakis and I am a Greek teacher and linguist. I was born in the Greek island of Crete and speak Modern Greek as my native language I have studied Ancient Greek history and language in university, which gives me an extensive knowledge of both the Greek language and culture past and present. I also have experience offering Ancient Greek lessons to high school students and I have spent a number of years teaching Modern Greek to foreigners who immigrated to Crete.Che tipo di insegnante sono
I am a flexible teacher because I understand that all students learn in different ways and at different paces. My strengths are, disciplined, prepared, friendly with new technology, friendly with students and motivator. Depending on the needs of my students I use both the grammar- translation and the direct approach. On the one hand I teach grammar rules in the students' mother tongue and on the other hand I use a modern conversational style in the target language with dialogues. Material is first presented orally with actions or pictures and the mother tongue is used rarely.Il mio materiale didattico

I've been taking Greek lessons with Ioannis for 3 weeks now. It's not an easy journey for me, but Ioannis is making it fun! The lessons are full of conversation and practice exercises, which makes me learn a lot of new vocabulary in just one hour! Ευχαριστώ πολύ, Ioannis, see you next lesson!!!
