My name is Jean-François. I am haitian. I've been working as a language teacher for 8 years. I teach haitian creole, French and portuguese (in the cultural center Brazil-Haiti). I speak Spanish and English too and I'm learning Italian and German right now. I have a solid background in applied linguistics. I also work as a translator and an interpreter.
Meu nome é Jean-François. Eu sou Haïtiano. Trabalhei como professor de idioma por 8 anos. Eu ensino crioulo Haïtiano, francês e português (no Centro Cultural Brasil Haiti). Falo espanhol e inglês também. Eu estou estudando italiano e alemão agora. Estudei linguística aplicada. Trabalho também como tradutor e intérprete.Che tipo di insegnante sono
I am a teacher that can adapt his method to the needs of my students. I use an interactive method bases on communication. My students have to be able to read, write, listen and speak the language that they learn. I am here to help them achieve that goal.
Sou um professor que pode adaptar o método às necessidades dos meus alunos. Utilizo um método interactivo baseado em comunicação. My teaching style will depend on my students needs and levels. For my basic students, I use a method of total immersion to help them to be able to use and understand the language very quickly. For my intermediate students, the most important is to be consolidate all the skills that they already have in the languague. For my advanced students, I work to perfect their ability and be capable to use fluently the language.

He's fantastic! I have been taking lessons with Jean-Francois for several months and I love his method, personality, and his work ethic. He makes great corrections to your grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary so that you can become the best French speaker you can be!

My class with Jean-François was excellent! Today's class was conversational. I learned a lot of new words and phrases that I can easily use in conversation. I also learned and practiced how to correctly pronounce those new words. I feel like my Portuguese is getting better every time I have class with him, thanks to the material given to me to do on my own as homework. Thanks for a really great class!

Jean Francois is an excellent language teacher. I take his class for conversation practice and as we encounter new words and grammar he keeps a running text log I can refer to later. Its very helpful.

A great teacher who adapts to your specific skill level as well as specific needs and interests. You learn the language but also a lot about the culture. He uses a variety of materials (articles, video, grammar tables) but the core is speaking together in the language, actually using it. On top of that, he is friendly and supportive, always open to questions.
