I have more than 10 years of experience teaching English, Japanese and Spanish.
I am a very passionate teacher because I love learning. I also love seeing the improvement in my students. I have been teaching since I graduated University and it is a job that I truly love. I think being a teacher does not mean having all the answers but being open-minded and accepting of other points of view. I always say learning goes both ways, since you can also learn from your students as a teacher.
I have a master’s degree in Spanish Language, a Professional Spanish Teacher certificate by International House and I am a certified examiner for the DELE (A1-A2, B1-B2, C1-C2). Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
I try for my classes to be fun and dynamic. I try to teach trough conversation as well so do not be shy: you do not have to be afraid of making mistakes!
I do follow a series of textbooks called Aula Internacional Plus, combined with other activities and resources. I will provide all the materials needed for the lessons as well as homework and extra activities for self-study.
I try to use mainly the target language in my lessons to improve your listening skills, but if you are a beginner do not worry! We can start slow and I can also teach in any of the languages I speak.

Wow! Maria is honestly awesome … I feel so blessed & grateful to have her teach me Spanish … it’s going to be a journey for me but I know I’m in the best possible hands. I’m determined to crack it however long it takes… María’s command of the English language is so advanced & therefore she’s able to clearly explain everything. She listens to feedback and accommodates the requests of the student while also using her own instincts to prepare a creative lesson-plan. Maria is honestly an amazing tutor with a lot of experience that I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn Spanish. I began my journey with her from scratch and together we have made more progress than I could have ever done solo. She is very patient, very kind, very funny, thoughtful and is willing to go at your pace to ensure you understand everything clearly!
