Hello, and welcome! I admire you for your goal of learning English. I’m here to help you in any way I can. Wherever you are in your learning journey, it’s my job to meet you where you are now, and help you get where you want to go.
As a native of Maryland, I speak Standard American English with a slight southern accent. I'm a college instructor and world traveler with a passion for learning about different ways of life. I can speak with you about a range of topics such as science, nature, philosophy, culture, travel, books, movies, theater, music, and TV. My teaching style is calm, gentle, and informal. I like to laugh and have fun during lessons, but most of all, I love to learn. I will learn as much from you as you will learn from me!
I’m a certified master teacher of English as a Second Language, and I’ve been helping people hone their English writing skills for 29 years. I’m also a novelist, a creative writing instructor, and a story developer. I teach all levels of English to learners ages 10 and up. My specialties are in creative writing and academic English. I tailor my lessons to your needs and wishes. I can also teach from such textbooks as Reading Explorer and Spectrum Writing. Together, we'll use your strengths and preferred learning style. No pressure; you go at your own pace. Teacher Julie is a great teacher. She has a passion for English teaching. If you want to speak better, she is fun to talk with and has a wide range of knowledge. If you want to improve your writing skill, she is a writer and teacher of creative writing. What more can I say?
