Hi, I'm Brandon! I'm a native Spanish speaker and an Applied Mathematician with a Master's degree in AI. I’m passionate about travel and culture; I’ve explored Spain, Colombia, Ecuador, Italy, Germany, and many beautiful places in my home country, Mexico. I’m also a language enthusiast: I speak English, Italian, and Portuguese, and I’m currently learning French. I truly enjoy connecting with people and sharing my culture; Mexican traditions are full of history and represent one of the richest cultures in the world. We'll always have a topic to discuss :) I have experience teaching Spanish to dozens of students from around the globe, many of whom I met during my travels or right here on italki. For instance, in 2017, I volunteered in Germany, which gave me great practice in cross-cultural communication. I love sharing knowledge, which is why I've been teaching Math and Spanish for the past 9 years. Our tutoring sessions will be mainly conversational. We can discuss topics that interest you—culture, science, sports, gastronomy, movies, or history. The key is to talk about what you enjoy, as that makes learning much easier and more natural for you. However, if there are specific grammar topics you struggle with or want to master, we can dedicate lessons exclusively to resolving those doubts. Many of my students say that I'm very patient, friendly, and great at simplifying complex concepts! I always keep the conversation light and fun. So come join me, and let's learn! :)5.0

OMG WOW AMAZING. Completely impressed. Felt so comfortable and was super professional. He was easy going which is exactly what I wanted. It was important to me to feel like I was chatting with a friend and to take learning seriously in tandem. Excited to work with Brandon ongoing and have weekly sessions. Brandon has a true knack for teaching Spanish to students who want to improve their language skills. He also takes a genuine interest in the student and helps facilitate the use of new words, phrases, and expressions. His teaching style seems to be grounded in improving the conversation, step by step, so that one's Spanish sounds more natural overall. I couldn't be luckier to be his student and to learn from him! I really enjoy my lessons with Brandon. As someone who only starting learning Spanish 5 months ago, the fact that I can have an hour long conversation in Spanish—without deciding on the topic of conversation beforehand—is really boosting my confidence. Brandon is really easy to talk to and engaging. I appreciate that he doesn't correct every small mistake I make, but he does correct the big ones (or the ones I make repeatedly). As well as learning Spanish, I'm also learning so much about Mexico from him; truly "dos pájaros de un tiro", to quote a phrase I learned today.
