I am Eli(sabeth), born and bread Estonian with a passion for languages. I've completed TEFL level 5 course and been teaching Estonian since Sept 2025, both online and in-person courses.
I also run a beginner-friendly podcast Estonian with Eli as I noticed the lack of materials available for listening.
The lessons could be more traditional classroom-atmosphere and discuss grammar or do drills, or just a casual conversation to practice your Estonian, whatever you prefer. My goal is to make you a more confident speaker using varied materials for it, such as video, audio, reading and homework assignments between lessons (if preferred). For beginners, I can suggest following Settle Estonia A1/A2 book, or E nagu Eesti, if you prefer, to go through various topics in an organised way, but we can also just focus on what you want to be able to say and how you might be exposed to the language.
If you have time and want to do some homework between lessons, please let me know, I'm happy to assign some and go over it before our next lesson :)
I am also happy to use any of my other languages to help you learn, so let me know if you want to have the lesson in a different language than English!

Estonian tutorOn several different platforms I have been teaching Estonian online 1:1 for students of various levels, with over 350h of teaching under my belt.

Estonian teacherI have been working with Language Services Direct for a couple of months, and teaching intensive 1-week course to different clients they work with in the UK as in-person course. This has included designing the beginner course and relevant resources, materials, worksheets and activities to facilitate around 25h of learning in a group of learners with no prior knowledge of the language.

Laurea triennale - Health Sciences (Health and Nutrition)Degree looking and health in general, with courses on sociology, psychology, statistics, epidemiology, biomedical sciences and public health, with final specialisation in nutrition. Dissertation contributed to a larger study published as: Hemp and buckwheat are valuable sources of dietary amino acids, beneficially modulating gastrointestinal hormones and promoting satiety in healthy volunteers by Neacsu et al., 2022 Mar.

2021 - 2024
Community DietitianWorking within the NHS as a dietitian led me from helping out at hospitals, to supporting nutrition lessons in schools, to specialising in weight management and type 2 diabetes management. I was involved with 1:1 consultations and group education facilitating.
2025 - 2026
Public Health DietitianI worked as a public health dietitian for nearly half a year to support the service. This included delivering nutritional education courses to various groups of learners. I was also heavily involved with improving the department's filing/digital organisation and helped them manage their ongoing data management better.

I learned what different types of food are called and we covered their different noun forms, focusing on vowel and consonant lengths. Not easy but very useful :)
