Hey, how's it going? My name's Catarina, I'm Brazilian and I live in Mogi Mirim, a small town in the São Paulo State, in the Southeast of Brazil. I'm 27 and I've been working as a professional Portuguese and English Teacher for 7 years.
Besides being passionate about learning and teaching foreign languages, I also like to study history, arts, philosophy, theology and music. I can't really play anything, but that's in my future plans. I love literature as well and I dream of writing a book someday.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, exploring random but interesting videos on YouTube and traveling to wherever fits in my budget.

I have a teaching degree from University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where I studied Portuguese. I also have a degree in English teaching and the CELTA Certificate by University of Cambridge. I've been learning English since I was 11, and teaching it since I was 16. I spent 5 months in Germany in 2017 and this experience abroad made me develop great intercultural skills - I love meeting students from all over the world and not just teaching them, but learning so much from them at the same time.
Throughout my career, I have taught kids, teenagers and adults, in English schools and at the university. Since 2020, I've been working exclusively with private online classes to adults (16+). Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
In my classes, I adapt or create personalized materials according to the needs and interests of each student. I generally focus on communicative and intercultural skills, working on some grammar points along the way. I like to use authentic materials (such as YouTube videos, movies, songs, podcasts, etc.) as much as possible, so you get in contact with the real-life language and culture.

Catarina é uma professora incrível ! I've been having classes with her for more than 6 months now and i cannot believe how far i've come in Portuguese. She really knows how to make the student feel comfortable and confident and even when starting i was not afraid of talking or practicing the language, while going at my own rhythm. I 100% recommend lessons with Catarina, I have had issues with finding good Portuguese teachers in the past, but I really struck gold with her. I learn so much each class and can't wait for each lesson, obrigado!!!

Catarina is an amazing teacher! I felt super comfortable with her. She listened to my goals and is going to map things out so I can achieve them! I felt cared for and important. I recommend her a 1000%. I believe in her methodology and will be disciplined to get where I want to be :)

Catarina is not just a great teacher, but she is also fun to talk to. She prepares well for her lessons, has a plan and study materials ready, but she is also flexible and ready to discuss any topic that might come up.
Languages is my passion, I've had about 40 teachers in the past 30 years and she is one of the best I've ever had! Obrigado :)

Catarina is always great, she is very diligent and attentive. She brings topics that you enjoy on classes to make it more fun and respect your learning goals and pace. I recommend her for everyone that aims to improve their english in any level.
