I have 6 years of peer mentoring experience in middle and high school.
Through this, I learned that good teaching starts with understanding a menteeโs pace, emotions, and learning style. In one English mentoring case, I first observed how the mentee studied and where they felt most nervous. Then I created small, daily reading activities, chose materials that felt easy and familiar, and adjusted the pace week by week.This helped the mentee gain confidence and improve their English scores.
