Classes with Jenny are always a pleasure. She comes prepared with original material and patiently drills and reviews until the words and concepts finally stick in my head. Her understanding of languages is very precise -- which helps that she also is fluent in English and Chinese -- and she can explain the nuances in meanings. Most of all, her lessons are insightful, rewarding, and fun!

As a Vietnamese speaker who speaks both English and Vietnamese, I also appreciate that Jenny is fluent in both languages. She can explain Chinese concepts clearly in either English or Vietnamese, which is especially helpful when I have difficulty understanding a particular grammar point or expression. Her ability to explain Chinese from both language perspectives makes learning much easier and more effective. She provides well-structured and easy-to-follow learning materials, which makes it much easier to review and understand each lesson. What I especially appreciate is her ability to understand the challenges I face as a Vietnamese speaker learning Chinese. She recognizes that certain Chinese sounds, grammar structures, and sentence patterns can be confusing from a Vietnamese learner’s perspective. Overall, she is a patient, supportive, and knowledgeable teacher. Her structured approach and clear explanations have helped me build a stronger foundation in Chinese.

Italki has a plethora of talented instructors. And Jenny Nguyen is no exception. I have been overwhelmed with the task of learning and improving my Vietnamese vocabulary, and had just about given up hope, until I had an intro session with Jenny. She is very Structured yet flexible. And has a unique and effective way of adding her own take on how the learning process should be approached. In my opinion, she is very versed in language history and how words are formed and related. Which makes the task of relating words and building a vocabulary, a much easier thing to do. That said, she also has strengths in the other areas of learning. And that really gives an English speaker such as myself, a balanced feeling when learning Vietnamese. I look forward to having another session, and seeing just how much more she can assist me with what I've considered, a very daunting task.
