Hi, I'm Michelle! I'm from Sydney, Australia. My native language is English, which I speak with a standard Australian accent, and I also speak fluent German.
I am a highly experienced teacher, as I have spent over 25 years teaching mathematics. A few years ago, I completed a linguistics degree and shifted my focus to language teaching and coaching, which is now my main occupation (I teach English and German). Since I am also an active language learner, I have an excellent understanding of the typical challenges my students face.

My lessons are most effective for the following types of students:
English lessons:
- Adults with an intermediate or advanced level of English who have a good general understanding of English grammar, but need to improve their speaking, pronunciation, listening and comprehension skills to become more confident communicating with native English speakers
- Someone who plans to live in or visit Australia OR is a native German speaker
German lessons:
- English speakers (native/non-native) in the beginner or intermediate stages of their German learning journey who want to improve their understanding of German grammar

English lessons:
I specialise in helping adults develop the skills they need to successfully interact with native speakers in English. In my professionally guided communication training, I'll teach you how to express yourself easily in clear and authentic English. I also offer English conversation lessons. Please read my individual lesson descriptions for more information.
German lessons:
I explain German grammar in English for English speakers, using a comprehensive set of lesson materials that I have created. My students find it particularly valuable to be able to gain insights from a fellow English speaker.

With over 200 hours of lesson time under my belt with Michelle, I can say without a doubt that she's an incredible English teacher. Check my lesson hours with Michelle, and trust me, you won't find a more patient and dedicated teacher. You can book her classes, but don't book too many or there won’t be any time slots for me! (Just kidding, but seriously, she's that good!)

A great lesson thanks you:) She pointed out my mistakes and gave me correct pronunciation. She also gave me suggestions for how to improve my speaking skills in exams.

My first session with Michelle was excellent - she really tapped into my unique situation as a 'false beginner' or German and gave me a heap of targeted and useful advice. I got far more from the session than I could have achieved by myself and I have lots of things to use in the meantime.
