Hi, I'm Michelle! I'm from Sydney, Australia. My native language is English, which I speak with a standard Australian accent, and I also speak fluent German. I spent over 20 years teaching mathematics and then completed university studies in linguistics. I absolutely love teaching and I have a very clear understanding of the typical challenges my language students face, as I am also a language learner myself (currently learning French, Italian, Japanese and Portuguese).

My lessons are most appropriate for the following types of students:
English lessons:
- Adult learners with an intermediate or advanced level of English who have a good general understanding of English grammar, but need to improve their speaking, pronunciation, listening and comprehension skills to become more confident communicating with native English speakers
- Someone who plans to live in or visit Australia OR is a native German speaker
German lessons:
- English speakers (either native or non-native) at the beginner or intermediate stages of their German learning journey, wanting to improve their understanding of German grammar

English lessons:
I specialise in helping adults develop the skills they need to speak and understand authentic conversational English, with a particular focus on the type of English spoken in Australia. During the lessons, we will be discussing a range of different topics, and I will be correcting your mistakes. I can also assist with English pronunciation, listening, reading and writing skills.
German lessons:
Drawing on my own experience learning German as an adult, I teach German grammar in English for English speakers, because grammar is much easier to understand when it is explained in your own language.
