My name is Leroy, and I am from Mauritius. I speak Mauritian Creole, French, and English, languages in which I excel. For the past 10 years, I have been living in 3 different countries, which include French Polynesia, Mauritius, and the United States (more specifically, Hawaii). I recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University-Hawaii. My studies were geared toward health and education. My goal as a teacher on italki is to help people reach their goals as they learn a new language. I have been a language learner, and I know the challenges that you can meet as you strive to learn a new language. My teaching methods are based on conversational exercises and activities, designed according to my students' personal learning preferences. From casual conversations to more formal ones, we can use a variety of topics to converse and practice the language. Roy is a delightful teacher. he is always prepared for our Creole classes and the conversation topics he prepares are very interesting and timely. I learned a lot from him and my language skills made a fast progress since I met him and over a short period of time. Definitely and unconditionally recommend!
