Hello, my name is Addie! I hold a Master's Degree (MA) in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from The Ohio State University.
In 2022 I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) from The Ohio State University, double majoring in World Language Education and Spanish and minoring in World Literatures.
I have experience teaching English in Oaxaca, Mexico, and I married into a Peruvian family in June 2025. Thus, I can appreciate the meaningful intercultural exchange facilitated through language study.

My teaching philosophy is centered around immersion and experiential learning. I believe that engaging in meaningful intercultural exchange is one of the best ways to grow in the target language. My lessons follow a flexible, conversational structure and will be personalized to suit your language goals. As we chat, I will help you refine your fluency by offering tips and corrections. When needed, we can supplement our discussions with explanations of grammatical and structural concepts. Addie is one of the best teachers I have found on italki. She is very easy to talk to and she is always in a good mood. I like how she always makes sure that I understand some word or phrase that she uses and I might not know. Thanks for being a wonderful teacher and person.

Today was my first lesson with her, and it was so much fun! It was a 60 minute lesson, but time flew by. I learned lots of useful idioms, words, and expressions. I'm already excited for our next lesson next week. :) Thank you so much!

Since last summer I've been studying English on iTalki, and Addie was my first teacher. I thought, I would practice speaking, learn to listening comprehension, and so on.
But I've learnt much more: about American culture, methods of learning (Addie likes to repeat: 'work smarter, not harder'), and, the most important, that lessons and study English can be exciting.
