Hi! I’m Serena, a native Korean speaker from South Korea, currently living in the UK.
I’ve always loved languages and sharing my knowledges. I first started teaching Korean 15 years ago while connecting with international friends online, and it quickly became a passion and a long-term part of my life.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy learning about different cultures, and exploring the world. I believe language is not just about words, but also about connection, kindness, and curiosity.

I’ve been teaching Korean online for over 15 years and have also led. I enjoy helping learners from all around the world improve their Korean skills in a fun, structured, and meaningful way.
My students have included complete beginners, intermediate, and even advanced speakers preparing for TOPIK exams or professional interviews. I adjust my lessons based on your goals whether you're learning Korean for travel, daily conversation, work, or cultural interest.
As a language learner myself, I'm here to support you with patience, encouragement, and clear explanations.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s level, pace, and goals. I usually focus on speaking and real-life communication, while also covering grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation as needed.
I often use custom-made materials and offer clear explanations with lots of examples. I also like to ask questions and encourage students to speak as much as possible.
Whether you’re a total beginner or an advanced learner, I’ll help you build confidence and enjoy the process. Lessons are flexible, friendly, and structured to help you improve naturally over time.

Serena is a great teacher and is really motivated and excited to teach you! She guides the lesson along at your pace very well and can easily pinpoint and help you improve on your weaknesses points (pronunciation for me!).

Had an outstanding first lesson with Serena, she listened to my wishes for the future lessons, explained to me how we going to plan the future lessons and how she wants me to progress. All in all she provided a good view for future lessons and how to learn the language and therefore i am looking forward to learn more with Serena!

It was my first italki lesson, and Serena is a pretty good English and Korean teacher. We talked a lot about language learning. She always patiently corrected my pronunciation and grammar mistakes, and gave me much help and encouragement. I’m looking forward to our next lesson.
