Besides my internship in Germany, I also have formal teaching experience:
▻ at several language schools and international companies in Taiwan
▻ as a private tutor for ten years (Time flies!)
▻ with over 2,000 hours of online teaching (I started with my private students in Taiwan)
I have taught Mandarin and English to adults, children, and teenagers, tailoring my courses to their needs. Over the years, I have built a diverse collection of teaching materials, but I always keep my lessons fresh and up-to-date! Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
Compared to English and other widely spoken languages, Mandarin is an entirely different language. For beginners, my first goal is to help you start speaking and have simple conversations, while introducing grammar step by step. My classes focus more on conversation and real-life communication rather than spending the entire session discussing rules.
If you're at an intermediate level or higher, I use authentic materials to show how the language is really used while helping with grammar and pronunciation.
Most importantly, all my classes are fully customized to fit your needs. There is no single "perfect" method for everyone. As long as it helps you learn, it's the right method!Il mio materiale didattico

Yzhen Laoshi is a really excellent teacher. Her lessons are always interesting. It is full of new things to learn, i.e, learning how to read pinyin, understanding the meaning of a Chinese song and even exploring topics related to Taiwanese culture. She is very enthusiastic about answering all my questions and provides clear explanations. Learning with her becomes a fun moment and it definitely boosts my confidence to enunciate Chinese words with the correct tones. I will continue to study with her and hopefully I will be able to converse in Chinese with confidence. Thank you Laoshi for the good times.

Yizhen is a really skilled tutor. I really appreciate the ongoing spreadsheets of vocab words I don't know as we talk, and she is able to multitask without missing a beat in our conversation. She also entertained my specific desire to read essays about specific topics as a means to build my language learning motivation around my hobbies. This requires time outside of the lesson, something not every tutor will do.

Areta is a great Chinese teacher. Listens closely for any grammar or vocabulary mistakes I make and gives me good word recommendations based on what Taiwanese people would actually say in day to day life. I also really appreciate that she writes all her corrections and new vocabulary in a Google Doc that you can view during class or review after class. I have reviewed that Google Doc to learn a ton of new vocabulary. Highly recommend.
