I'm Gavin from the UK. I've got keen interest in the outdoors and have climbed in places such as Yosemite and the Alps; as well as participating in mountain running events such as the 'Glencoe Skyline' and 'Ultra Trail Snowdonia'. I also have an interest in films, TV, and literature and have worked as a cinematographer on various short fiction and documentary projects.
Finally, I have vast experience in the Manufacturing Industry from my time working as a Quality Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, and in Customer Service & Planning. If you are a climber, a runner, a film enthusiast, or work in Manufacturing then I will be a great teacher for you.Che tipo di insegnante sono
I have experience of teaching English in Japan as well as teaching English and Media Studies in UK high schools & Sixth Form. I'm also a student of Japanese so I understand the difficulties that students encounter when trying to learn a new language. One of the most helpful things to me in my own studies has been using context that is meaningful for me, in order to underpin some of the key language learning points that I've been studying. I like to engage with students on topics which are important to their lives, in order to ensure that the content is enjoyable, relevant, and memorable.Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
In the trial lesson I will assess the level of the student and learn about their interests and English goals.
In subsequent lessons I will use material appropriate to the Student which is relevant, fun, and engaging. Knowledge of the topic will help the student learn via context.
The one to one lessons will then focus on exercises and conversation which will allow the student to use and experiment with grammar and vocabulary which they can use in an engaging way which is relevant to their life.
The meaningful context and the ability for the student to discover patterns and vocabulary themselves will increase their ability to remember important English grammar, vocabulary and fundamentals.Il mio materiale didattico
