Tycoon

It’s already been a year of learning Korean with Tycoon. He's never late to class! Our lessons mainly focus on speaking practice. We chat casually, and he gently corrects me along the way. We review past lessons, practice making sentences, and explore idioms and expressions. Whenever grammar points pop up, we take the time to go over them too. My confidence in speaking is growing, and while grammar and speaking are still challenging, I’m slowly getting the hang of it. During a stopover in Seoul, I actually got to use what I’ve learned, from asking questions at a pharmacy, ordering street food to requesting a clothing size. I made plenty of mistakes, but it still felt like a huge win. I’m excited to keep learning with Tycoon and see how far I can go. Tycoon is a fantastic teacher. He is friendly, approachable and patient. His way of teaching is precise and fun. He is able to assess what level I am at, what I need improvement on and he tailors the classes at my pace. The Korean language can be quite difficult to grasp but Tycoon is able to explain things so clearly to minimise confusion. A lot of teachers I tried provide lessons in the form of a lecture which is not my learning style as I don't get to practice. Tycoon's lessons are different. He reviews what I learned, and he asks me questions so that I am stimulated and challenged. He also makes me feel comfortable asking questions, no matter how silly the questions may be. I appreciate that Tycoon provides feedback. I am quite nervous when studying Korean but Tycoon tells me when I have done well - this fuels me to not give up. I genuinely believe my Korean is getting better because of Tycoon and I look forward to more classes with him.

Took Tycoon class for few years nw, and now im back rusty again but he always believed in me🤣🤣 thank you for always being patient with me in the class, ive learnt so much and gain more confident to have more korean conversation with you n the rest.. 100% always recommeding him to my friend who wants to learn Korean coz he explain and break down concept in an easier way for his students! ✨

My learning journey with Tycoon 선생님 has been nothing short of incredible. He is an exceptional teacher with a remarkable ability to adapt his teaching methods to the individual needs of his students. He is incredibly supportive and always encourages me, even when I mix Korean with English to express myself. His patience and positivity make every effort feel valued, no matter how small. I’m truly amazed at how much I’ve progressed since I first started learning Korean with him. I’ve gained so much confidence and now find myself thinking and writing directly in Korean, rather than translating from English. As a translator, I also rely on my linguistic instincts, which have been sharpened through this process. I’m certain that I’m advancing faster than ever before, and I owe this progress to Tycoon 선생님 for keeping me motivated and making every lesson engaging and enjoyable.

I finished a 10-lesson package with Tycoon today. I appreciate that he accepts my lesson requests on the same day as well, which makes it easier for me to fit in a Korean lesson whenever I get some free time. We've talked about many things from weather, flowers, language learning, Korean cultures, travelling, family to books. He never rushes things and gives me time to think, guides me to think for myself as much as possible, corrects my mistakes and teaches me new expressions. I usually get a lot of speaking time in his lessons, but also enough learnings to take home to improve. Thank you Tycoon!
