Hello, I'm Joanna, a native English speaker from Scotland, UK. I've been an English teacher for 3 years. I love helping my students achieve their goals and being able to adapt to each student. I love meeting people from all over the world and finding out about different cultures: it’s one of the best things about teaching English!
I'm also an amateur musician (I've been teaching for over 3 years now), which is why I am delighted to offer both English lessons and English lessons through singing for music lovers :) I love singing and playing the piano and think that music is a great way to learn a language- while improving your musical skills at the same time!Che tipo di insegnante sono
My students always tell me that I am a patient teacher with a flexible approach and a very mild Scottish accent! My lessons are a safe place for making mistakes and exploring the language. For this reason, I can always challenge my students beyond their comfort zone while keeping it relaxed.
I love helping my students achieve their goals, for example: speaking more confidently and naturally with fellow travellers, taking part in meetings in English at work, or preparing for an IELTS exam.
If you are interested in singing we can use this as a way to practice English. I believe that practicing language through an external skill is an excellent way to learn by doing something you enjoy.Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
My general English lessons are available to A2-C2 levels (A1 para falantes de português). In a typical lesson we can: practice real-life scenarios, study a grammar topic, read an article together, all with feedback as we go. This is very flexible because it depends on the student’s goals.

My lessons with singing are mostly aimed at students with some prior knowledge of English (B2+).
They will build on what you’ve already learnt in English, expand your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation. The selection of songs will be appropriate depending on your level, and chosen to teach certain aspects of English.Il mio materiale didattico

Proof of Employment - Frontseat English - 2023I worked as an English teacher for Frontseat English (previously named The English Journey) from May 2022 until March 2024. Frontseat English is an online school based in São Paulo that specialises in teaching Business English to students who work for Brazilian companies who need to use English in their daily work. Some of the topics we covered were general business vocabulary and idioms, effective presentations, meetings, negotiations, writing emails and finance.

Joanna’s lessons are the most interesting and valuable for me. She is patient, humorous and she has a beautiful accent and singing tone.
