Chiara Pepe

Chiara Pepe is all those adjectives: energetic yet calm, caring yet diligent, playful yet patient, casual and disciplined and always always creative in the moment. I think to carry on a conversation with someone you don't know that well, and whose Italian is as rusty as mine, she has to be like a jazz musician, always willing to pivot and go down a new road. Chiara's creativity shows in her ability to improvise with me, all the time. Mille grazie, Chiara!

Chiara is the best. She's patient, kind, and so much fun to talk to. I've had about 10 lessons with Chiara and my speaking and listening skills have improved significantly. I'm so glad I decided to take lessons despite my anxieties and insecurities. I already feel more prepared for my meeting with the Italian consilate and for my future visit to Italy. I completely changed the lesson plan for the day (because of events out of my control) and Chiara was very supportive and able to quickly adjust and "go with the flow." I think it is the sign of a really good teacher--this ability to improvise and still create a good atmosphere for learning. Grazie Chiara!
