Chiara Pepe

I’ve been taking Italian lessons with Chiara for over two years, and I honestly couldn’t ask for a better teacher. She’s genuinely fun to talk to and always asks thoughtful questions that keep the conversation flowing. She also adapts every lesson to what I need in the moment—whether that’s grammar, pronunciation, or just getting more comfortable speaking. I really appreciate her balance: she gives me plenty of space to talk, but she’s listening closely the whole time, and she saves corrections to go over clearly at the end of my sentences. We also spend time on everyday expressions and cultural details as well. Highly recommend Chiara to anyone who wants to learn, improve and enjoy the process.

Chiara Pepe is all those adjectives: energetic yet calm, caring yet diligent, playful yet patient, casual and disciplined and always always creative in the moment. I think to carry on a conversation with someone you don't know that well, and whose Italian is as rusty as mine, she has to be like a jazz musician, always willing to pivot and go down a new road. Chiara's creativity shows in her ability to improvise with me, all the time. Mille grazie, Chiara!

After studying Italian for a few years, I felt that I knew alot about the language but was struggling with engaging in spontaneous conversation. In preparation for a trip to Italy, I began studying with Chiara and the lessons helped me immensely. She is a great conversationalist; patient, helpful and just fun to be with. My sessions with her are always one of the highlights of my week. I highly recommend her.
