Shu

Shu is a very kind teacher. He meets you at whatever level of Japanese you're at and is very patient with you. If you don't understand something, he is quick to help you understand by showing examples, explaining it in more detail, or spelling it out in Kana for you. When you do get something right, he is very encouraging. He also shows in interest in your interests, and uses those in his lessons to help connect with you the language. He trained me quite well for the N5 test! He is very easy to talk to, and is also flexible with his schedule which is incredibly helpful.

Today we did 2 new grammars but still Shu was incredibly patient with me as we worked through them. I really enjoy these classes and will continue to come back. Thanks Shu!

Been getting back into Japanese Studies lately and Shu sensei has been so helpful to get me back on track. I've felt my Japanese has improved so much in between each lesson. looking super forward to the next class!

I've had lessons with Shu Sensei for 1.5 years now, and have improved significantly in terms of my overall Japanese speaking, writing, and reading capabilities. Shu Sensei has always been incredibly patient, thorough in his explanations, and always knows how to make you feel comfortable with expressing yourself. Looking back at the homework I wrote at the start of my lessons to what I write now, I can really see just how much I've improved under Shu Sensei's guidance. When I travel to Japan etc. I'm also shocked by just how much better I've gotten at speaking/listening, mostly due to my lessons with Shu Sensei. I thus highly recommend him to everyone!

Lessons with Shu Sensei are the best thing that I could have done for my Japanese, and I would happily recommend him to anybody. Shu Sensei is a kind and patient teacher, and his teaching style works so well. Each lesson starts with a conversation about our day, followed by a review of homework. The homework is lots of fun, it's a great way to apply new grammar and vocabulary because it's always about my daily life, giving me practical knowledge whilst also practicing what I've learned. Following that, we work through the Genki 1 textbook, practicing the new grammar points along the way. Shu Sensei has a great flexible teaching style, and he's not just reading off the page. He comes up with other relatable ways to use each grammar point, which really makes it stick. Thank you Shu Sensei!

Working with Shu-san for the past few weeks has been very good. He has a very easy going style of teaching that makes it easy to be ok to just make mistakes and try out the language you know.
