Khaila

Never thought I'd have so much fun discussing a topic I don't like! LOL, today we learned terms related to sports. This actually made for some great conversation and I feel I learned a lot this morning. Khaila asked lots of questions, using new and old vocabulary. She was also extremely encouraging, even when I forgot words she's taught me more than once ;)

As the lessons are getting harder, I find myself fumbling more, but Khaila is extremely patient, though she doesn't shy away from challenging me.

Khaila is such a great teacher! She always makes sure I’m following along and doesn’t mind patiently explaining things with as many examples as I need. I also really appreciate her kind and encouraging attitude, along with high level of professionalism, whether we’re working on the materials she prepared beforehand or during lessons in a more spontaneous conversational format. I totally recommend!

Khaila was organized, going through terms for family members and integrating that with personal pronouns and simple sentences. she allowed me to try first as much as I could recall and then would come in if I needed help. Super comfortable to work with while staying on task.

I have been taking dialect lessons with Khaila for months. I feel I improved a lot during this time, from not being able to order a falafel to having conversations about everything going on in my life (with many mistakes but no more fear/nervousness). And that is despite not revising as much as I should because of my university fusha workload. Khaila is so patient and understands my level and pace perfectly. We have had lessons with prepared materials and such which were great, but now we just converse. What I enjoy so much: We talk about the most interesting topics, there is never a lull in the conversation/it never feels like a boring or forced learning convo, she remembers everything and asks about things I have said in the past, corrects me immediately but gently, notes new words down for me ... it is always an immense pleasure. I feel like when I have more time to revise and take more lessons, my speaking will improve at lightning speed with such a good and enjoyable teacher.
