After a consultation, we identified learning objectives. I was initially focussing on improving my pronunciation and accent reduction. However, teacher Dinah also identified a significant weakness in my listening comprehension. Other students will have different objectives. Teacher Dinah's method of training listening comprehension requires a high degree of tenacity. It is challenging, yet extremely productive for the serious student. One must understand training listening skills to understand to native speakers requires a lot of listening repetition. Vocabulary also doesn't follow typical HSK levels. Through the lesson, Teacher Dinah also explained certain habits I have with pronunciation and corrective measures. So far, this student is highly satisfied.
