Teaching is one of my greatest joys, especially when students get to that "ah-hah!" moment when their understanding suddenly falls into place. I naturally build warm, friendly connections with my students and guide them with personalized support. And I love Persian—it's a beautiful language with a rich literature of great poetry and mysticism. Isn’t it amazing that about 120 million people speak it, roughly the same as German or Japanese? My goal is always to promote the Persian language and its deep literature in an engaging and meaningful way and help my students make functional sentences and speak with confidence, fluency, and joy.

I worked as a swimming teacher for four years in Iran and I absolutely loved it! When I saw my students progress and start believing in themselves I knew that this is something I want to do more of and help others progress in other aspects of life.

I have been teaching Persian and Turkish to foreigners for the last couple of years. One of my hobbies is learning different languages, so I know that learning a language can be tough at times. That's why I try to create a friendly environment in my classes so students feel comfortable speaking freely without worrying about making mistakes.

I consider myself a language tutor. In my opinion, the best way to learn a language is to jump in and try to speak it right away, so my approach is not academic but starts from the practice of conversation. Fluency & Pronunciation 🇮🇷 I grew up in Iran as the daughter of two teachers, which has given me insight into how they taught learners from a variety of backgrounds. I moved to Canada in 2010 and married a Canadian native English speaker. I taught on italki for a few years, but took some time off after having a daughter, but am now back to continue teaching with limited hours. My lessons focus on all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing), but spoken conversation is clearly the focus due to the nature of italki. I use a variety of tools to expose my students to an ever-increasing range of subjects to exercise and expand their conversation skills while keeping things light and fun. I'm also open to adapting my style to what the student is interested in. As someone that has learned languages from scratch myself, I can put myself in your shoes and tailor my teaching to better suit your needs as they change. I always encourage my students to be patient and not worry about making mistakes. Confidence is often more important than accuracy! I avoid the use of transliteration in my lessons, as I feel it is detrimental in the long-term. Having said that, my students are naturally free to use it themselves.
