It's a special way of reading.
Twenty is read as hatachi only when referring to age.
22 years old → にじゅう に さい

It’s really great question! Counting the number is quite important part for learning Japanese. If you could check the number not only for the age but also date, that would be much great! You can say 20th(20日) is はつか! 😊
