• Something interesting and special about my culture - Taiwan receipt lottery/ uniform invoice lottery:
In Taiwan, there’s one intriguing thing concerning the stuff you get after buying something - receipt.
Yes, the receipt, and everyone knows what the receipt is, but you could get a chance of winning money with your receipt in Taiwan.
It’s just like the lottery; If you match the digits of the published winning numbers, you win money.
The rules of Taiwan receipt lottery:
• match the last three digits of any sets of the First Prize winning numbers, you win NT$200.
- Sixth Prize
• match the last four digits from any of the First Prize winning numbers, you win NT$1000.
- Fifth Prize
• match the last five digits from any of the First Prize winning numbers, you win NT$4000.
- Fourth Prize
• match the last six digits from any of the First Prize winning numbers, you win NT$10,000.
- Third Prize
• match the last seven digits from any of the First Prize winning numbers, you win NT$40,000. - Second Prize
• First Prize: NT$200,000 for matching all the digits from any sets of the First Prize winning numbers in the right order.
(three sets of winning numbers in usual)
• Grand Prize: NT$2 million for matching all the digits from the Grand Prize winning number in the right order.
(only one set of winning number)
• Special Prize: NT$10 million for matching all the digits from the Special Prize winning number in the right order.
(only one set of winning number)
• Additional Sixth Prize: NT$200 for matching the last three digits of the Additional Sixth Prize winning numbers.
Besides, a winner has to claim his/ her prize in three months.
I’m not sure whether a receipt in other countries has the same or similar function; however, in here (Taiwan), one of the functions of a receipt is checking whether you hit the jackpot! It’s sort of fascinating and exciting. : )
