First of all it is important to me to know your goals before we start. There are many reasons why someone would like to learn Norwegian, maybe you have relatives living in Norway today, or perhaps your ancestors emigrated from Norway a long time ago? Quite a few people would like to learn Norwegian well in order to get a job in Norway! Based on your goals I will make an individual curriculum that focus on what you need to learn in order to master the Norwegian language at a level that you need to succeed.

As a teacher I focus on creating a comfortable atmosphere for the student, where you can make mistakes without worrying. I like to have informal conversations about whatever the student wants to talk about, of course in Norwegian. Any speaking practice is good!

I am fond of the deductive process of learning a language: from the text to the rules (and not the other way round) I have plenty of authentic material with me that we can use for our lesson, including pictures, poetries, talk show... depending on your interests and level too. When a class is scheduled, it is part of my weekly plan and I get ready for it. I conduct a detailed journal of what I have been doing with my student, I write down every session, thus it is easy for me to check what we did on our past sessions. I used to teach more conventionally, meaning with my students being in the same room as me. In 2021 I started using Skype for my classes and things work out very well. I am always punctual as I respect the time my students take for our class, likewise I do appreciate if my students do the same.
