Written Exercise 189 – BEAN SPROUTS(豆芽菜or芽菜) As seen in the pictures, those green things are called bean sprouts, 豆芽菜 or 芽菜 in Chinese. They grow from green beans and are is easy to germinate. We grew a sifter of them two days ago. We put the green beans in a sifter and then put them on a plate or a basin with enough water to cover the beans. After that, we put them in darkness to let them grow. Unfortunately, we forgot them, and they overgrew. They look thin and long or even have grown out roots. I wonder what they taste like. I will find out because we are going to cook them. We might make bean sprout soup and sliced meat or stir-fried bean sprouts and sliced meat. Although they did not grow like in the market, homegrown vegetables are always the best.
