A fun cooking day with my Mexican friend

Last weekend, I met up with my Mexican friend, and I taught her how to make tomato and egg, a simple Chinese home-style dish. She thought it was easy, and even though it was her first time making it, it turned out really delicious. She was also very creative. Instead of adding sugar and salt, she added black pepper and garlic, and it tasted really good.
Then I asked her what Mexican dishes she could make. She said tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, but she didn’t know how to say them in Chinese. So I explained that they are all kinds of Mexican flatbread dishes. Taco is usually just called taco in Chinese. Burrito is often called 墨西哥牛肉卷饼 or 墨西哥鸡肉卷饼, depending on the filling, because it looks a bit like a Chinese wrap. Quesadilla is sometimes called 墨西哥芝士薄饼 or 墨西哥芝士馅饼, because the tortilla is very thin.
In the end, we made a plan: next week, I’ll go to her place, and she’ll teach me how to make a Mexican quesadilla.

上周末，我和我的一个墨西哥朋友见了面，我教她做了一道简单的中国家常菜：西红柿炒鸡蛋。她觉得这道菜很容易，虽然是第一次做，但做出来特别好吃。她也很有创意。我本来教她放一点糖和一点盐，但她加了黑胡椒和大蒜，结果味道也特别好。
后来我问她会做什么墨西哥菜。她说她会做 tacos、burritos 和 quesadillas，不过她不知道这些用中文怎么说。于是我就跟她解释，它们都算是墨西哥薄饼类食物。Taco 中文一般就直接叫 taco。Burrito 因为看起来有点像中国的卷饼，所以常常会说成“墨西哥牛肉卷饼”或者“墨西哥鸡肉卷饼”，要看里面包的是什么馅。Quesadilla 因为饼皮很薄，所以有时候会叫“墨西哥芝士薄饼”或者“墨西哥芝士馅饼”。
最后我们约好了，下周我去她家，她教我做墨西哥 quesadilla。
