THE SECOND WORLD WAR: ITS INFLUENCE IN JAZZ MUSIC IN THE STATES What effect had the Second World War in the jazz music field in the United States? In genereal, the conflict was positive to this music. The Special Services' military units allowed thounsands of youngters to play music day and night, when before only a few musicians could make a living of their art. Night clubs in big cities were crowed with soldiers on leave, which increase the demand of jazz combos and orchestras. The military radio stations carry the popular and jazz music to every place where American Army Forces were based. Ironically, even enemy's propaganda agences crontributed to spread American music. They tried to lure opponents to an "idyllic paradise" through the emission of jazz tunes. A Japanese radio announcer became the favorite one of American soldiers in the Pacific. As a result, the general public got used to an ambiance marked for jazz and dance music and a lot of musicians could work full-time. The most recognized musicians became national heros, the names of Dorsey, Miller, Basie, goodman or Ellington woudl resonate even in the most remote places of the states.

There is a great Chinese saying that goes as: a tree wants to be quiet, but the wind still blow it; a son wants to support his parents,but his parents have passed away. It tells us that we usually expect to do something, eventually when we have the ablity to do it, but we have lost the chance to do it. We can call it regret. When I look around, some of my friends are from only-child families. When they work hard every day to support their family and take care of their children, They seldom have extra time to look after their parents. In that case, though they really want to Repay the kindness of their parent's upbringing, they are lack of time and energy. The only thing they can do is to bless their parents can keep healthy. But the things happen later are usually out of their expection. As people get older, they usually become weak and easily get sick. They need to be cared by others, if they can't rely on their children, maybe nursing homes is the only choice. According to my experience, most of the nursing homes are amazing. The elder there can do activities with others, sing and dance together. The food is also great!

Hello! I've been learning phrasal verbs and wanted to consolidate them in my brain by writing a made-up story using those phrasal verbs that I'd like to go over. This story is very random, so it might sound very silly and have nothing to do with my real life, haha. Could you please kindly correct how I use those phrasal verbs, if I'm using them wrong? Thank you in advance!! ........................................................................................... I went to the most beautiful beach in the world. I put suntan lotion on and enjoyed my time there. After returning from the vacation, I talked to my friend about how amazing the experience was, but he didn't believe me because he thought I couldn't afford to go to the best beach in the world. He said "don't try to put me on." I replied, "It's not a put-on!" "I don't believe you have the ability to pay for that. It must have run into $1 million," he said. I told him, "yeah, I had a coupon, which took 99% off the entire cost. Also, my business has taken off, so I had no problem paying it all up. If you're still dubious about that, that's fine. I'm not going to talk about that anymore" So, I took off in frustration. By the way, in my business, we hold so many events every month, like 25 company events per month, because we like to have fun. Normally, each event comes off very well. Everyone is meticulous and attentive, so they pay attention to every single detail, they even care about whether or not the color of the decor shows up well against the color of the wall. Some of them easily come down with a cold or even with the flu because of the fatigue from their work. There was someone who had cancer, but he pulled through completely, because of his mad love and insane degree of passion toward working for my company. He's so loyal to me and my company. He always goes along with my decision and idea. I hope all this story didn't make you want to doze off.
