A:你 身 高 多 少？
How tall are you?

wǒ shēn  gāo yì mǐ  bā  wǔ 。 
B:我身 高一米 八 五。
My height is one point eight five meters.

nǐ  tǐ  zhòng  duō  shǎo ？ 
A:你 体 重 多 少？
How much do you weigh?

wǒ  tǐ  zhòng  yì bǎi  liù  shí  jīn 。 
B:我 体 重 一百 六 十 斤。
I weigh one hundred and sixty jin.

6-4：Informal occasion：Inquire about height and weight  

 qǐng zhàn shàng qù ， wǒ gěi nín liáng shēn gāo 、 tǐ zhòng 。 
A： 请站上去，我给您量身高、体重。
Please step onto the scale. I will measure your height and weight for you.  

    hǎo de 。 
B： 好的。
 Ok.   

nín shēn gāo yì mǐ qī bā ， tǐ zhòng yì bǎi sān shí jīn 。 
A： 您身高一米七八，体重一百三十斤。
Your height is one point seven eight meters and your weight is one hundred and thirty jin.    

hǎo de ， xiè xiè 。 
B： 好的，谢谢。
Ok, thank you.

6-3：Formal occasion：Go for a physical examination

nǐ  duō  gāo ？ 
A:你 多 高？
How tall are you?

wǒ  yī  mǐ  qī  wǔ 。 
B:我 一 米 七 五。
I am one point seven five meters tall.

nǐ  duō  zhòng ？ 
A:你 多 重？
How much do you weigh?

wǒ  wǔ  shí  èr  gōng  jīn 。 
B:我 五 十 二 公 斤。
I weigh fifty-two kilograms.

6-2：Informal occasion：Inquire about height and weight  

 qǐng zhàn zài shēn gāo tǐ zhòng chèng shàng ， wǒ gěi nín cè liáng 。 
A ： 请站在身高体重秤上，我给您测量。
Please stand on the height and weight scale and I'll measure you.

hǎo de 。 
B ： 好的。
OK.  

 nín de shēn gāo shì yì mǐ liù bā ， tǐ zhòng shì sì shí bā gōng jīn 。 
A ：您的身高是一米六八，体重是四十八公斤。
You are one point six eight meters tall and weigh forty-eight kilograms.  

 hǎo de ， xiè xiè 。 
B ： 好的，谢谢。
OK, thank you.

How old is your grandfather this year?

tā jīn nián jiǔ shí èr suì le 。 
B:他今年九十二岁了。
He is ninety-two years old this year.
