Isabella
My mother promised me that she would take me back to my hometown. I haven’t been there in ages. I was afraid of a retarded man I met there years ago. He didn’t do anything, just played with leaves. I was little kid then, I feel sorry for him now. My relatives all live in my hometown and I missed them a lot. I am so looking forward to see my relatives.

你好 Isabella. Well done. Possibly you will have different feelings going back there now that you are older. Good luck!

Just about perfect. Well done. The only reason I changed 'missed' to 'miss' is that I assume you miss them all the time.

My mother promised me that she would take me back to my hometown. I haven’t been there in ages. I was afraid of a mentally disabled man I met there years ago. He didn’t do anything, just played with leaves. I was a little kid then. I feel sorry for him now. My relatives all live in my hometown and I miss them a lot. I am so looking forward to seeing my relatives.
Very well written. My only note is that it is no longer considered respectful to refer to someone with a mental or intellectual disability as "retarded", so I would advise you to avoid using that word. Use "mentally disabled" or "intellectually disabled". Or if the person has a specific condition such as Down's Syndrome, then you could say "a man with Down's syndrome".
