As someone who learned English as a second language, I was taught that 'think of' usually means to remember or be reminded of something, while 'think about' means to reflect on something more deeply. I guess for native speakers, the difference isn’t always so clear-cut, and both expressions can be used depending on the context or the speaker’s intention :)
