Today, I read a book called The Moorchild. The setting of this story is Torskaal, a city near the moor. Saaski thought that she was just a normal thirteen year old girl. What she do not know, is that she is half folk, a group of magical immoral creatures who lived in the moor and half human. Because of her heritage, Saaski was a cast out. ‘Neither one thing nor yet quite the other’ She lived with the folk when she was young, then, she found out who she is and was forced to leave and live in the human world. Can she learn to be a human? Can she fit in with the rest of her village? This book a must read for kids who think they fit in. It was an excellent piece of work. It won the Newberry Honor. I love this book because Saaski is a strong and determined girl who won her humanity even though she have the blood of half a creature who do not feel love or hate.

Sounds great!
