Hoi! I’m a certified Dutch and English teacher from the Netherlands, passionate about helping students live a language through culture, conversation, and creativity. My adventures abroad —from teaching in international primary schools to becoming ESL-certified in Peru— taught me how to make learning feel like exploring. When I’m not working, you’ll find me drawing, making music, reading or exploring somewhere outdoors. I studied to become an international primary school teacher and have my Dutch teaching qualification for primary schools as well. I have taught abroad in international schools for my studies and was also a classroom teacher in a Dutch primary school (grades 2 & 6) for two years after finishing university. There, I also worked on curriculum design for English and IT. After university, I obtained my TEFL certification in Peru, where I realized I love teaching people of all different ages. Finally, I obtained my certification for Dutch as a second language and have spent almost a year teaching my native language to teenagers and adults immigrating into the Netherlands.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
I enjoy creating interactive lessons that require the student to think, but mostly ''do''! I believe languages are best learned by being fully immersed in them. Students learn best through realistic situations and by getting a lot of time to talk. I value creating a bond with my students and learning about them as they learn from me, so I'm always looking for new ways to meet your personal learning needs!
In my lessons, I use ''dry'' materials such as coursebooks and worksheets, but I also believe that a variety of learning materials is the best way to immerse oneself in a new language. As I love anything creative, I also use a lot of media, stories, games and visuals!Mijn lesmateriaal

Docent Nederlands als Tweede Taal - NHL Stenden - 2025Study included 420 hours of classes around language policy, language education and cultural diversity, as well as 420 hours of teaching in a Nt2-school. I taught half a year at the Internationale Schakelklas (ISK) for young students aged 12-18 immigrating into the Netherlands. This certification allows me to teach Dutch as a second language to people of all ages and had a big focus on cultural diversity and teaching in a multicultural classroom as well.

I highly recommend Kyra as an English teacher. She has helped me to improve my fluency in the language while providing feedbacks on my pronunciation and grammar mistakes. I feel much more comfortable (and confident) to speak with natives since I started taking classes with her.

Ik heb echt genoten van onze eerste les met Kyra! Ze had een geweldige manier om mijn fouten te corrigeren en verbeteringen aan te wijzen, en we hebben een persoonlijk plan opgesteld op basis van mijn leerdoelen. Ik kijk uit naar de volgende lessen!
