Ва́не пять лет. Он лю́бит игра́ть на музыка́льных инструме́нтах и ка́ждый день игра́ет на балко́не. Для Ва́ни балко́н – э́то сце́на. Он игра́ет на трубе́ и́ли на бараба́не. Сосе́ди слу́шают и говоря́т: «Кака́я прекра́сная му́зыка! Како́й тала́нтливый ма́льчик!» Лю́ди на у́лице то́же слу́шают и аплоди́руют.
У Ва́ни есть мла́дший брат. Его́ зову́т Са́ша. Са́ше  три го́да. Са́ша то́же растёт музыка́нтом. Он стои́т в крова́тке и у́чится игра́ть. Он игра́ет на трещóтке, бараба́не и бу́бне. У него́ хорошо́ получа́ется. Лю́ди на у́лице ждут, когда́ Са́ша бу́дет бо́льшим ма́льчиком и бу́дет игра́ть вме́сте с Ва́ней на балко́не.
Сосе́ди спра́шивают ма́му: «Почему́ ва́ши де́ти так хорошо́ уме́ют игра́ть на музыка́льных инструме́нтах?» Ма́ма отвеча́ет: «Их тала́нты – от па́пы».
Ма́ма уме́ет рисова́ть и фотографи́ровать. Па́па уме́ет игра́ть на всех музыка́льных инструме́нтах. Он – челове́к-орке́стр! Игра́ет на аккордеóне, пиани́но, гита́ре, скри́пке, саксофо́не и губно́й гармо́шке.
Когда́ па́па игра́ет до́ма, сосе́ди стуча́т в сте́ны и говоря́т: «Пожа́луйста, игра́йте гро́мче!» Ма́ма говори́т: «Подожди́те. Мы репети́руем. Ско́ро уже́ бу́дет конце́рт для всех».

Two friends, Alex and Jamie, are chatting in a park.

Alex: Hey Jamie, did you hear about the surprise party tonight?

Jamie: No, I haven’t. Are you serious?

Alex: Absolutely! And don't worry, I'm just pulling your leg about the party details.

Jamie: (Looking confused) Wait, what do you mean by "pulling your leg"? Are you actually grabbing my leg?

Alex: (Laughs) No, no! "Pulling your leg" is an idiom. It means I'm just joking or teasing you. I'm not doing anything physical at all.

Jamie: Oh, I see! I thought you meant something literal.

Alex: I can understand the confusion. English idioms can be tricky. "Pulling your leg" simply means I'm kidding.

Jamie: Honestly, I always have a hard time understanding or remembering idioms. How do you do it so easily?

Alex: Well, Mrs. Smith on italki taught me all the tips and tricks for mastering them.

Jamie: Really? How do I get her to teach me too?
