English term or phrase: "Happy Birthday!" Bengali translation: "Shuboh jonmoh din!" Not only celebrating birthdays with a cake but also receiving blessings from elders is a part of Bengali culture. The main food of the Bengalis is rice and with it a small grill on the day of birth and rice pudding is inevitable. Bengali birthday house is incomplete without "payes".
