I want to have language partners

You are learning English the wrong way! Learning English is a very tough thing to do. Every English speaking country speak the language differently. Depending on where you are in the world you may hear different accents, words and even spellings. Most people learn English from a teacher, mostly from their own country. Their teachers will have been taught English the same way and only have the knowledge from what they have, themselves been taught. To me, a native speaker, this is the wrong way to learn English. Why? Because most English speakers do not speak "perfect" English. In fact "formal" and "informal" English are nearly the same thing, us natives have developed an understanding in our language. Formal and informal is now judged on how people dress and not so much on how they speak. ( Although there are still some words and phrases that you should avoid in formal situations). So what is the better way to learn English? Well there are two ways. 1. NETFLIX If you dont have a Netflix account. Get One! You will have access to different accents, tone and speed of English. Watch British documentaries to see how "Formal" English is spoken. Watch American dramas, to see how different age groups speak the language. Watch comedies to see how the language can be manipulated. Take this all in whilst enjoying what you're watching. 2. SPEAKING Grab a language buddy from an English speaking country. Speak through Skype at least once a week. Talk about relevant things that you would talk about to any other person. Learn to express yourself and how to manipulate the language. Learn how to really communicate using English and pick up many phrases and words that textbooks may not teach you. Be immersed into English

Why I want to teach English My teaching English interest comes from a fascination about learning languages and how humans have not only developed different languages from each other, but also how we learn a new and foreign language. I have noticed that children tend to learn languages much faster than adults, mainly because they do not have any attachment to their native tongue and, at their age, their brains are still developing and learning everyday so a language is not much different to learning the alphabet. It also fascinates me to analyse how others learn the English Language. I have found that a lot of native English speakers think that English is the easiest language to learn just because a lot of people speak it. I, on the other hand, feel that English is one of the hardest languages to learn. Questions such as ‘How to teach the difference between A Apple compared to AN Apple’ has alerted me as to how the concept of the English language could be really difficult to understand. A lot of languages that I have studied, especially European languages contain different plurals such a masculine and feminine so would confuse English speakers who want to learn them. I think that our language is one with not much explanation as to why we say certain thing. Maybe because English is a language comprised from various other languages throughout history
