    Hello! They both mean the same, however the first one is much more idiomatic and is what would normally be said. The second one is technically correct grammatically and would be understood, but would rarely, if ever, be said. I hope this is helpful!

    I grew up in New Jersey, and I personally don't use the phrase, though actually my wife does occasionally. I might consider it a bit quirky or odd if someone used it often, but I wouldn't take it negatively.

    ¡Hola! Tus frases me suenan bien. Cuando se dice "mirar algo", se traduce como "look at something". Pero si simplemente dices, por ejemplo "¡Mira!", eso sería "Look!" ¡Espero que te ayude!

    Hello. "Made" is better, because the doctor is forcing, urging, compelling, encouraging the man to write the letter. "Let" would imply that the doctor is allowing the man to do something he is going to do anyway. I hope this is helpful!

    Hello. Here it is correct with or without "the". I think when you are talking about a specific position, such as "leader", "boss", "headmaster", "general", etc you can omit the article. Sorry I can't explain better than that, but I hope this helps!

    I agree. Short of turning it off, moving it farther away, or buying a quieter one, there's not much you can do. One other thing to consider, are you using files on the external drive while you're teaching? If you're accessing files on the drive it will make more noise.
