I believe Michael is absolutely right, there are way too many mistakes in that textbook, presuming you indeed copied everything accurately. Number 1 is wrong. It should be either "than me" or "than I am". Number 2 is wrong in the same manner. It should be either "as them" or "as they are". Number 3 is wrong, the correct key should be "turns". Number 5 is wrong, the correct key should be "her" (it's the object of the sentence).

If you have copied the questions and key answers correctly, then you should throw away your book, or try to get your money back. It is worse than useless because it has so many mistakes. I can give you details but I suggest perhaps we wait first to see if others agree with me.

I agree that some if not all of them are not correct. #1 should be: "Your husband does believe that you are older than me" or "Your husband does believe that you are older than I am". "I" by itself will not work and just sounds odd. #2 should be: "Maybe we are not as rich as them, but I bet we're a lot happier." or "Maybe we are not as rich as they are, but I bet we're a lot happier." #3 should be: "She is one of those gifted writers who turns out one best seller after another." Because the noun that is performing the action is " 'one' of the gifted writers" and thus the verb needs to be conjugated in the 3rd person singular, or "turns". #4 seems okay, but really worded in an odd way. #5 should be: "Was it her you were talking about?" because you could say, "Were you talking about her" but you cannot say, "Were you talking about she". None of your answerers has all correct! haha. Some have most correct, and some contradict each other. 'of those gifted writers WHO TURN' of course because the who refers to gifted writers, not to ONE. For the first two, both forms are used I/me and they/them. I and they anticipate the following verb (even if we omit it as in 'older than I (am)' where the 'am' is understood). However in spoken English we are somewhat reluctant to use 'I' alone so change it to 'me' despite grammar correctness.

Questions like 1 and 2 have been in debates for a long time, but this is what I think about it in my opinion. 1. Maybe we are not as rich as they are, but I bet we're a lot happier. / Maybe we are not as rich as them, but I bet we're a lot happier. 3. She is one of those gifted writers who turns out one best seller after another. (who refers to "she" which is a singular noun, therefore "turns") 4. We thought the actress to be her, but we weren't sure. (objects = him/her/me Eg. She (subject) is the one with the red dress / The one with the red dress is her (object).) 5. Was it she (subject) you were TALKING about?
